How income from A41BTT is taxed depends on where you’re liable for tax. Here are the essentials – clearly explained.

How A41BTT is taxed in the UK #
Inside an ISA or SIPP #
Gains and income inside a stocks and shares ISA or a SIPP are free of UK tax. UCITS ETFs listed on a recognised exchange are generally ISA-eligible – but whether your platform offers A41BTT inside an ISA is another question. At AJ Bell, for example, the euro line CSHE is currently only available in a dealing account. The sterling line is CSGB.
Outside a tax wrapper: reporting fund status matters #
A41BTT is an offshore fund domiciled in Luxembourg. If it has UK reporting fund status, gains on sale are subject to capital gains tax, and the income the fund reports is taxed as income each year. If it does not, any gain on sale is taxed as income (an “offshore income gain”) – the CGT annual exempt amount and CGT rates do not apply.
We could not confirm the status. At the time of writing, sources such as justETF list A41BTT’s UK tax status as unknown. Before investing outside an ISA or SIPP, check HMRC’s list of reporting funds for ISIN LU3025345516.
Currency #
The fund is euro-denominated. Even on the sterling line (CSGB), your return in pounds depends on the EUR/GBP exchange rate.
