Two tickers, two currencies

CSGB or CSHE? #

On the London Stock Exchange, A41BTT trades under two tickers. Both are the same fund (ISIN LU3025345516) – the ticker only decides which currency you trade in.

CSGB – pounds sterling #

  • Trade in pounds You pay and receive sterling, so your platform doesn’t need to convert currency.
  • Still a euro investment The sterling price moves with the EUR/GBP exchange rate. Your return in pounds is the €STR return plus or minus currency moves.
  • Check the spread justETF lists a market maker for CSHE but none for CSGB – compare bid and ask before you trade.

CSHE – euros #

  • Trade in euros Useful if you already hold euros, for example to park euro cash at the €STR rate.
  • Conversion costs If your account holds pounds, your platform converts them – usually for an FX fee on both purchase and sale.
  • Market maker According to justETF, BNP Paribas Arbitrage quotes prices for CSHE in London.

Good to know: A41BTT earns the euro overnight rate €STR, not the sterling rate SONIA. If you want a sterling money market investment without currency risk, a SONIA-based fund is the more natural choice.

Step by step

What to look out for when buying #

  1. Low-cost investment account #

Especially with smaller amounts, fixed dealing charges eat up a noticeable share of the interest. A platform with low or no dealing charges is ideal for a money market ETF.

  2. Find the right ETF #

Search your platform for the ISIN LU3025345516 or the London tickers CSGB (pounds) and CSHE (euros). UK platforms rarely use the German WKN.

  3. Trade during London hours #

The London Stock Exchange trades Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:30 UK time. Right after the open and shortly before the close, the spread is often wider.

  4. Buy with a limit #

A limit order protects you from price outliers. Set the limit just above the current ask price, and the order will usually be executed immediately.

Trading venues

Where is A41BTT traded? #

A41BTT is listed on several German exchanges and off-exchange trading venues, including:

  • Xetra EDEG
  • Börse Frankfurt
  • gettex
  • Börse Stuttgart
  • Lang & Schwarz Exchange
  • Baader Trading

In London it trades on the London Stock Exchange under two tickers: CSGB in pounds and CSHE in euros. It is also listed on Euronext Paris, Borsa Italiana and SIX Swiss Exchange (each as CASHE).

Which platform? #

Not every UK platform offers A41BTT. At the time of writing, AJ Bell lists the euro line CSHE – but only in a dealing account, not in an ISA or SIPP. For other platforms see our overview of UK platforms above, and search your platform for the ISIN before you decide.

Inside an ISA or SIPP your gains are free of UK tax; outside, the fund’s UK reporting status matters. More on our tax page.

Lump sum or regular saving? #

If you want to park a larger amount, a one-off purchase during London trading hours is usually the cheapest option. If you’d rather build up your cash reserve gradually, check whether your platform offers regular investing in this ETF.

When does buying pay off? #

The shorter you hold the ETF, the more trading fees and the spread weigh on your return. The break-even calculator shows how many days it takes for the purchase to pay off for your amount.
